TABC Certification FAQ

We have provided answers for some of our most frequently asked questions regarding online TABC seller-server training certification:

Where can I find TABC approved seller training courses?

TABC regulates the courses. The courses are taught by approved providers. A full list of providers can be found at: http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/training_and_certification/approved_seller_training_schools.asp
The list includes computer based/internet courses as well as sight based courses.

How do I reprint my certificate?

TABC Certificate reprint is available by request.   For several reasons, including security, we de-activate a user’s account after we issue the official TABC Certificate.

How do I verify a certification? (How do I check my own certification?)

Certification may be checked online at the TABC Certificate Inquiry website: https://online.tabc.state.tx.us/datamart/mainMenuTXABC.do
Social Security Numbers and Dates of Birth will be needed to complete the check.
Approved seller training schools must submit the trainee information to the TABC within 14 days of the trainee completion of the course.

I lost my certification certificate. How do I get another copy?

You can print a proof of your certification at the TABC Certificate Inquiry website: https://online.tabc.state.tx.us/datamart/mainMenuTXABC.do
It includes the issue date, expiration date, certificate number, status, name and date of birth of the person who is certified.

If I have had a DWI or a felony, can I be certified?

There are neither age nor criminal history restrictions, but an employer may still consider those in whether to employ a person.

Do I have to be TABC certified to be a waitress, or bartender?

At the present time, TABC certification is not legally required, but it is strongly encouraged. Some employers, as a matter of business practice require certification for employment.

How long is the TABC Certification valid?

Two years from the date of issue. To maintain the certification, the course must be repeated every two years.

What is the cost of the course?

The cost is set by the course provider. TABC does not currently regulate the price. Certified 2 Serve offers TABC course enrollment online for $14.95.
